Reflection

For the whole time, 15 weeks that I studied Critical Reading subject. I had a wonderful time and feel relax, comfortable and friendly from my friends and Aj.Usa. First of all, I would like to thank Aj.Usa for the good sheets, great model of how can I be a good teacher. She always comes to class on time and teaches the hard thing to the easy thing. I leaned many things from this class not even just the reading skill, but I can improve English skills also. She leads us to the lesson by explain and share idea after that she asks us to come and write mine mapping and discuss with friends. So it's a really good thing to encourage students come and write sentences and ideas and didn't say that it's true or not, but she tries to encourage everyone to think and discuss about the sentences and ideas that friends have written. Finally, I look forward to study with her again. I think she makes the students feel comfortable and relax as much as they can. This is a good environment to help students gain more knowledge. I really like her, Aj.Usa.

Diary 15

Today is the last time to study Critical Reading subject. I learned about Face book and read the article about that. The article was not difficult and I can read and understand almost of them. So there were three question that I have to answer my opinion in this blog. To start with if I block information share from my site and how could my personal still public because I have to setting my account and opt out the application and the information that Facebook also makes it automatically share. Next, if Facebook still automatically share and I will setting and unchecked the point the sites that Facebook also share. Finally, I think if the information that users didn't allow to share, but Facebook share. It's not appropriate and illegal. This lesson is interesting.

Diary 14

Today I learned reading editorial. I read the comment of Micheal about ObamaCare insurance. I found that he criticize this insurance that most employees will not enroll this insurance because of it's low benefit.I think this insurance is not good because it provides low benefit and didn't cover such as surgery and stay hospital. after that, this topic is very difficult and hard to understand the sentences are very complex. The words are very hard to find the true meaning because there are a lot of imply meaning when I looked up in the dictionary it was not correct as well. I tried to ask Aj.Usa the meaning but not all. Finally, this lesson is  difficult.

Diary 13

Today is 12 September 2013. I had a Critical Reading class. Aj.Usa asked to write down the theme of the exercise in the sheet and my friends came to write down the answer on the white board and we discussed the answer together. I have read the advertisements and did the exercise. I think the advertisement is not difficult except the theme of advertisement because some of it is hard to understand what the product is or what the feature is, so I tried to look up the definition in the sheet. This lesson is interesting.

Today is 5 September 2013. I had a Critical Reading class with my friends, 54/17. Today Ajarn Usa taught me about book review: homework from last week. Then she taught me about  movie review she shown the example of the movie review about First Grader and we discussed many thing together such as the name of director, the publisher, positive words and negative words. After break she taught me about advertisement and I did many exercises in sheet. I think the advertisement is hard to under stand because there were many implied meaning and I have to look up the definition from dictionary. These lessons are interesting.

Today is 29 August 2013. I had a critical reading class, in this time I learned about book's review. Aj.Usa asked me to explain the definition of book's review and share the ideas what do we usually found the words in the book's review. I have tried to find the title, author's purpose and the important context.  I think the book's review is hard for me to understand what reviewer wants to show and reflect to the author because the unknown words are too many. I should try to guest meaning of the words and read it very carefully. This lesson is interesting.

Diary 10

Today is 22 August 2013. I had a Critical Reading class. Today I had a test about find the main idea and distinguish fact and opinion. I had 1 hour to do the test this test was difficult because of the unseen passages and there were a lots of unknown meaning words. After the test I studied the author's purpose, tone, attended audience. I think this lesson is easier than last lesson because I can find and answer the quiz easily. This lesson is challenging.

Diary 9

Today is 15 August 2013, I had a critical thinking class. Aj.Usa asked me to summarize about the first grader and I did a quiz in the sheet. I shared my idea about the first grader to my friends. It was fun and interesting at the same time. I have discussed the two sayings between "you are not too old to learn" and "You can't teach an old dog a new tricks" and decided  which one that I like. Finally she asked me to explain the immigration to explain to my friends. This lesson is not too difficult because I have seen the movie before that's why I can understand the sheet easily. This lesson is challenging.

Diary 8

Today is 25 July 2013. I had a Critical reading class with Aj.Usa. She taught me about learning experiences. She asked me to think and discuss about what important things do people learn in school? What important things do people learn outside school? After all she opened the movie about you're never too old to learn called The First Grader. This movie tells me that whatever how old are you, but you still learn until you die.

I found the Kenyan's pronounce is hard to understand and there was not the subtitle in this movie that makes me got a little bit confuse. This lesson is interesting. 

Diary 7

Today is 18 July 2013. I had a spacial time to join NPRU National Academic Conference at Su building, because Aj.Usa aksed me to join. This conference was very useful because they were talk about the phenomenal of nature and how to be ready when ASEAN comes. There were many narrators talk about the ASEAN and talk about the other countries that will join the ASEAN too. Thailand is more active about this however the others are more active than Thailand and they are ready because their language is better than Thai people. I just hope that Thai people will be aware about English language and try to be ready for ASEAN community in the next two years.

Today is 11 July 2013. I had a critical reading class with my friends, 54/17. Dr.Usa asked me to find the main idea from the passages by reading the first sentence of each passages and tried to find the main idea. However I had to blend the knowledge from last week, hypothesis and then find the evident to support the hypothesis. Today I thought the new words were difficult, but solved this problem by looked the new words up from dictionary. This lesson is challenging for me.

Today is 4 July 2013. I had a critical reading class with Dr.Usa Noytim, today she thought me how to find the main idea, and why the main idea is important for reader. The main idea is so hard for me because of the limit of vocabulary and complex sentence that's hard to translate and make comprehension. I will solve these problems by read more and try to understand unknown words. This lesson is difficult.

Diary 4

Today is 27 June 2013. I had Critical Reading class. Aj.Usa thought me about how to distinguish between fact and opinion. She asked me to read two passages and answer the questions. I think this lesson wasn't difficult for me because I separated them before, and this time it made me understand more about fact and opinion. The difficult vocabulary is the hardest thing for me to understand and distinguish fact and opinion.  This lesson is challenging.

Diary 3

Today is 20 June 2013. I had a critical reading class. Aj.Usa asked me to read and find the meaning of some words in paragraph that we don't know. This paragraph is about popular culture, Sushi. Sushi is one of my favorite Japanese food. The first time I hated sushi cause of the taste of wasabi is bad, but this time I avoid of wasabi and eat only raw fish with rice and nori and I also dip them in soy sauce. I think the words about marketing is hard to find the meaning especially phrasal verb that I have to look them up from online dictionary. This lesson is interesting.

Today is 13 June 2013, I had a Critical Reading class. It was a very wonderful class today because Aj. Usa asked me to describe and discuss the picture of Mona Lisa. I was exciting and relaxing in class and I tried to look at the picture and find the code in her eyes,Mona Lisa. My friends were exciting too because we shared the idea to each other. However Aj.Usa gave me a quiz before lunch time. This quiz was quite difficult because I need to write and answer the question carefully and tried to fine and understand the meaning of the word, so this lesson is challenging.

Diary 1

Today is 6 June 2013. I had a Critical reading class with friends. It was an exciting class because I have to study with Dr. Usa Noytim again, she asked me and my friends to discuss what is critical reading and think that what is difficulties from critical reading. We leaned the full meaning of critical reading. Critical reading is more difficult than Reading strategy because we need to analyze the sentences and know which sentence or opinion that we can trust. I think this subject is challenging for me.
